"Paradis" er satt på vent, men dette er egentlig ikke en seilbåt å bare selge. Det er stort å seile mini. Du er endel av naturen. Vi har diskutert mye hjemme. Det vi går over til, er en båt der konen føler seg trygg, og at seilene er lette, og at det ikke går så fort. Men da er det egentlig ikke seilbåt lenger. På den andre siden ønsker hun ikke en motorbåt. Hun elsker stillheten bare en seilbåt kan gi. Jeg gir meg og lager en båt utifra et månedsbudjett. Orker ikke å satse mer på noe som kanskje ikke er noe allikevel.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hvis man ikke har evnen til å bevege seg etter vinden, så kjenner man kanskje aldri heller gleden av å fly fremover fra bølge til bølge. En dans i motvind. Går det fort nok, er det alltid i motvind... En mini slår heller ikke i bølgene, den er så liten at den beveger seg imellom. Men klarer man ikke å kjenne bevegelsesgleden til båten, båtens sjel, tja. Da er det igjen, sol og frisk luft, god mat, bli gynget i søvn. For kvinnen min er dette nok, sier hun. Hun vil ikke ha broacher og ustyrlige seil. Surfing fløes utrygt og ukontrollerbart.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Så hva gjør en seiler som meg på land? Man kan ikke bare ha det moro alene her i livet. Men når andre ikke synes det er så moro? Vel, når alt kommer til alt og man ligger på sotteseng, er det godt at noen er glad i en og ikke gikk, fordi en seilbåt kom iveien. Kroppen sier takk for seg til tider og den gir blaffen i seilgleder. Etter hver vinter må jeg starte på nytt med blanke ark. Iår blir det turbåt. Skal ha så mye sol og samvær som mulig igjen denne sommeren for å ha reserver til vinteren.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Men hvis det går bra med kroppen og minien fortsatt er på lager til neste år, skal den sjøsettes og seiles. Rundt Oseberg, flott meditasjon, Shetland race - uten å prøve å vinne noe, kanskje være noen dager ekstra hvis det blir finvær, men det blir det aldri på denne tiden. Nå har vi pusset og gnikket på båten og lagt den på lager innomhus, slik at den skal holde seg fin. Der får den være til det kommer en kjøper. Prisen er nå satt meget lavt: 200 000 for båt og henger, og storseil, fokk, genoa, code 0, stor spi og liten spi. Det er batterier 2 x 100A, logg(ikke kalibrert) og dybde. kompass. Den er egentlig klar for doublehandseilas, og kunne godt vært godt vennegjeng spleiseprosjekt. Med denne båten lærer man mye på kort tid. Det er samme type seiling som på en open40. Det er laget av et gammelt willing seil. Jeg har bundet opp 1.rev i tilfelle det kan bli aktuellt med et større seil eller lengre bomlik. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Vi har et rev igen,bruker vi det, blir det ikke ikke mye duk . Har regnet ut at seilet er ca. 7,5kvm. Dette er mest skrevet for å ruske litt opp i gamle fordommer. Men samtidig er det slik jeg ser det. Shetland race er en utfordring og med god trening, kan man få litt igjen. Responsen fra seilere har likevel vært heller laber. Jeg tror dette skyldes at det meste av opplevelsen ligger i hver enkelt båt. Etter regatta, debrifer de, har seg en ankerdram, hviler ut, i hver sin båt. Vi som seiler solo og 2 sammen får ingen oppmerksomhet fra de som seiler team. Dette har stort sett vært erfaringene de ti årene vi har seilt. På &amp;quot;Askøy rundt&amp;quot; går knapt nok folk iland. Jeg har skrevet en høyst personlig og useriøs artikkel som de har tatt inn. Det er ingen råd her som kan brukes, men den er morsom å lese. Burde kanskje ha tatt med mer om hva som egentlig er/føles som god sikkerhet på sjøen. Jeg styrer min båt innenfra og kan seile i timesvis i drittvær, mens andre folk i store båter er &amp;quot;barske&amp;quot; og står bak på hekken og hakker tenner, der de tar alle sjøene over seg. I 2003 seilte jeg med en Rush 96. Jeg ble skylt ned i le to ganger, fikk buksevann, skiftet sokker 3ganger. Det var ganske slitsomt, egentlig, selv om vi hadde tre vaktskift. Tegningene fikk de i 2005.Budsjettet er på 8000Euro. Mast og seil fikk de for 2000Euro fra en som ikke kom igang med sitt eget selvbyggersett. De forlenget hyttetaket og fikk en båt med god innvendig plass. Kjølen var i stål og støpejern, og laget slik at de kunne demontere den i flyttbare smådeler. Den hadde ikke flyteskum, men de planla oppblåsbare innvendige flyteelementer. Planen var å ta barnet ut av skolen, og bruke korrespondanseskole. En tur over atlanteren, i hvertfall skulle de på langtur. De hadde brukt 2år på å bygge båten, hadde ikke arbeid. (Noe som er vanlig i Frankrike) Begge jobbet iherdig med prosjektet. Alt rustfritt hadde de funnet på opphogde båter, bossplasser eller laget selv. /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;Vi har besøkt Jacques, som er en pensjonert instuktør og direktør ved OCCAJ, en idealistisk organisasjon som har drevet med ungdom og friluftsliv. Han bor om sommeren med sin båt i Hyeres på OCCAJs sin base (Nå VVF).  Der leier han seg ut til turistene for 50Euro/pers. Serpentaire er en båt i kryssfiner og epoxy. Belagt med glassfiber på utsiden. Den har innvendig ballast og en lett kjøl som kan heves. Roret kan også trekkes opp slik at båten lett kangå inn på grunnt vann. Lengden er 695cm og vekten 1250kg. Det spesielle er kanskje at kjølekassen er flyttet litt over på siden, slik at midtgangen er fri. Nede i båten er det  derfor ganske god plass. Det er en salong med sitteplass til 4 og en ligge plass på hver side. Foran er det en dobbeltkøy. Dekket er også trukket helt ut til sidene, slik at det blir sammenhengende. Da blir det også mer plass  til hodet, eller mer plass rundt hodet under dekk. I ryggstøene er det rikelig med stueplass. manntauet i cockpiten kommer for høyt opp, og dytter en over i le når båten krenger.&lt;br&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Men hvordan seiler man i Hyeres?&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Dette er er egentlig det eneste stedet på rivieraen hvor det er noen øyer utenfor, slik at de danner en slags ly mot havet. Men om sommeren er det vanskelig å seile noen som helst steder her. Det er fullt av båter overalt. Alle havnene er opptatt. Det er ikke tillat å gå inn på strendene, for de er forbeholdt badende og ikke båter. Så der forsvant fordelen med trekkoppkjølen.I finvær kan man legge seg på anker på innsiden av øyene, og det er kanskje det som er den mest vanlige helgeseilasen. Hvis en så skal i land, pumper man opp en enkel Europris gummibåt og padler inn. Vi så to båter som var drevet på land for 3uker siden. De hadde begge ligget for anker da det blåste opp. Ikke særlig lystig syn.&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Det er lagt ut moringer i uthavner. Vi så flere i poller der det kanskje ville være flott å dykke i finvær. Vestaværet med kulingen slo rett inn, så det er ikke hver dag de kunne benyttes.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Det er mange båter her på rundt 21-27ft. Gjennomsnittet bruker båten 3dg i året. Likevel er båtplassene dyre. En moring hele sommeren kostet 250Euro, båtplass oktober 150Euro. Juni 250Euro. Kanskje det koster 1500Euro å ha båten sin liggende i havn et år. Så hvis man ser på båten som et slags hytte ved sjøen, er det kanskje ikke så dyrt, og det forklarer kanskje hvorfor det vokser mye groe på dem og de kanskje ikke akkurat ser ut som skarpseilere heller. Men det er mye greie, litt klumpete, romslige båter, hvor det kan være fint å være en weekend. Og siden man ikke kan dra noen steder allikevel, så holder det med et par timer ute på sjøen. Så blir man sulten til neste måltid, og er det noe franskmennene kan, så er det måltider.&lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Hele vinteren holdes det regatta hver helg. Seilklubbene har optimister, lasere og katamaraner. Man kan også seile på handikap.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Når det er dårlig vær og blåser, myldrer det av windsurfere og kitere. Vi kom frem til at det er litt kjedelig å seile her i forhold til i Norge, for vi har tross alt i forhold til folketall og antall båter, et mye større utbygget system med gjestehavner. Det var nok litt mer vind p&amp;#229; slutten da, men&lt;br&gt;v&amp;#230;rtjenesten p&amp;#229; Shetland sa at det hadde v&amp;#230;rt force 8 siste natten&lt;br&gt;denne gangen ogs&amp;#229;. Forskjellen var bare at vi denne gangen la oss mye&lt;br&gt;lenger nord slik at vi kunne seile de de siste 64 nautiske milene p&amp;#229;&lt;br&gt;11 timer med litt slakk i skj&amp;#248;tene. Vi holdt en gjennomsnittfart p&amp;#229;&lt;br&gt;nesten 6knop. I 2008 seilte vi 44 Nm p&amp;#229; 24timer.&lt;p&gt;Sist gang ble vi sett p&amp;#229; som idioter, men vi seilte tross alt gjennom&lt;br&gt;liten storm uten skader eller uhell. Ingen har noen gang spurt oss&lt;br&gt;hvordan vi egentlig klarte det. Det var mer viktig &amp;#229; straffe oss for &amp;#229;&lt;br&gt;ikke &amp;#229; ha meldt fra. De med store b&amp;#229;ter likte heller ikke at starten&lt;br&gt;ble utsatt et d&amp;#248;gn og miniene fikk skylden.&lt;p&gt;Jeg h&amp;#229;per n&amp;#229; at miniene blir sett p&amp;#229; som solide og trygge b&amp;#229;ter&lt;br&gt;uansett v&amp;#230;r. Tross alt er dette en stor b&amp;#229;tklasse i europa. Synd det&lt;br /&gt;ikke var noen andre båter med, for det var en fin opplevelse. Ble&lt;br /&gt;ganske sjøsyk med en gang og brukte cockpiten som bøtte. Det var ikke&lt;br /&gt;så lurt, for det stinket på hele turen. Det blåste friskt ved Marstein&lt;br /&gt;og utover. Lurte på om det egentlig var så klokt, fordi jeg var så&lt;br /&gt;dårlig. Men inni doghouset var det ikke så værst. Båten gikk selv på&lt;br /&gt;strikkstyring, så det var bare å henge med. 3rev i storen og et rev i&lt;br /&gt;fokk. Vi krenger ganske mye for det, men motoren har 25cm igjen fra å&lt;br /&gt;bli dynket. &lt;p&gt;I 23tiden begynte jeg å bli trøtt og startet intervallsoving: 15min&lt;br /&gt;soving med eggeklokke. I begynnelsen syntes jeg at 15min var lenge,&lt;br /&gt;men etterhvert ringte klokken i ett sett. Dvs. når hodet kom på puten,&lt;br /&gt;sov jeg. Prøvde å forlenge tiden til 20min, men metronomen inni hodet&lt;br /&gt;var innstilt på 15, så da var det bare å se at det gjensto 5min til&lt;br /&gt;alarmen gikk av. &lt;p&gt;Etterhvert var jeg uthvilt. Måtte ta en ny soveomgang utpå dagen, men&lt;br /&gt;sov ikke spesielt mye på land om lørdag natt. &lt;p&gt;I starten var det deilig å legge seg ned når jeg var sjøsyk. Bare&lt;br /&gt;lukke øynene og bli vugget (slengt...) i søvn. Hadde med mye mat, men&lt;br /&gt;det var bare digestive kjeks og litt vann som ikke kom opp igjen. Rart&lt;br /&gt;jeg har glemt at jeg alltid er sjøsyk og ikke spiser stort de første&lt;br /&gt;24t. &lt;p&gt;Har montert nye Led-lanterner, men det så ikke ut som om de virket.&lt;br /&gt;Kunne ikke se at det skinte noe lys på vhf-antennen. Prøvde å vende&lt;br /&gt;polene og forskjellige ting, men det ga ikke noe bedre resultat. Ikke&lt;br /&gt;var det særlig morsomt å være kasteball som kaster opp mens jeg prøver&lt;br /&gt;å treffe en skrue med et skrujern. Hvor er nødlanternene? Jeg er&lt;br /&gt;sikker på at de var der....det var de ikke, ok.. nød-nød lanterne&lt;br /&gt;igjen. Samme som for to år siden. Det er greitt å ha flere valg. &lt;p&gt;Oseberg dukker plutselig opp i horisonten med masse lys. Da vi kommer&lt;br /&gt;nærmere, dreier vinden, som meldt mot vest, og vi dreier sørover. En&lt;br /&gt;annen båt går innenfor sikkerhetssonen på 500m og blir anropt. Trøtt&lt;br /&gt;som jeg er, svarer jeg og lurer på om ikke 12,9Nm er god nok avstand.&lt;br /&gt;Vender båten, 3-4 Nm igjen på lengdegraden, selv om avstanden er over&lt;br /&gt;12Nm, neste kurs er rett mot plattformen. Gidder ikke å provosere, så&lt;br /&gt;jeg tenker at målet er nådd greitt nok og legger kursen hjemover. &lt;p&gt;Sola titter frem gjennom skyene, sjøen er svart, blå, grønn på slutten. &lt;p&gt;De tre revene sto fortsatt i storseilet. Slipper ut rev i fokk, setter&lt;br /&gt;liten spi. Dette er en kombinasjon som gir fin balanse i båten.&lt;br /&gt;Spinnakeren får luft også i le, så den klapper ikke sammen under platt&lt;br /&gt;lens. Med en halvtrøtt skipper fungerer dette. Det skal heller ikke&lt;br /&gt;større storseil til for å klare å berge seilet. Skifter tilslutt til&lt;br /&gt;til stor spi, tar ned fokk og heiser hele storseilet, merker at det er&lt;br /&gt;mye mer trykk i røven.....skulle gjort det tidligere, men var ikke&lt;br /&gt;helt i form selv før på slutten. &lt;p&gt;Det er godt å se at vhf-en er i orden. Ny antenne gjorde susen. Nå går&lt;br /&gt;det en kabel fra antennen til radioen, ingen skjøter. Siden jeg er&lt;br /&gt;medlem av Sjøassistanse, ringer jeg gratis til mobiltelefoner i hele&lt;br /&gt;norsk sektor. God lyd, det var nesten som å fruen på besøk. Lurer også&lt;br /&gt;på om ikke Stord på kanal 7 dekker bedre enn Sotra på 81. &lt;p&gt;Ser at jeg er på kollisjonskurs med en tåler. Kaller han opp og en&lt;br /&gt;dansk stemme forteller at han holder 3,5kn og har 330 favner med trål&lt;br /&gt;ute. Med mine 6kn går jeg fint foran med litt skarpere slør. Det er en&lt;br /&gt;og annen båt som går langs kysten, færre lengre ute. &lt;p&gt;Jeg skjønner ikke at det skal være krav om AIS på Shetland race. Det&lt;br /&gt;er nesten ikke mørkt og god utkikk er det ingenting som kan erstatte.&lt;br /&gt;Mannens mot ligger i hans ryggsekk, sa fjellklatreren Reinhold&lt;br /&gt;Messner. Vil alle disse sikkerhetsdingsene gjøre at vi blir dårligere&lt;br /&gt;sjømenn på andre måter. Vi trener på hva vi skal gjøre når vi har&lt;br /&gt;gjort feil, istedenfor å trene på å gjøre ting riktig.&lt;br /&gt;Eksempler:&lt;br /&gt;Danbuoy med lys og drivanker og livbøye... det setter seg sikkert fast&lt;br /&gt;før hele rallemikket kommer på sjøen. Dessuten har den som er falt uti&lt;br /&gt;allerede redningsvest på seg, ikke? Den som faller uti skulle heller&lt;br /&gt;hatt danbuoy på seg, det er jo han som vi skal finne. At han klarer å&lt;br /&gt;svømme 2-3 sjømil til et lys han bare kanskje ser, er lite trolig, mer&lt;br /&gt;som et halmstrå. Da er det mye bedre at alle har skikkelige blinklys&lt;br /&gt;og personlig epirb på seg. Vi har også nødraketter i lommen. &lt;p&gt;Nødraketter: Til å tenne fyr på båten med. Brannsår? Hvor ble det av&lt;br /&gt;nattesynet. Epirb med GPS og gode blinklys på batteri må da være&lt;br /&gt;greitt å se for et helikopter. Det er mange historier om folk i nød&lt;br /&gt;som har fyrt av nødraketter som ikke er sett. &lt;p&gt;Flåte: Vi skal trene på å få flåten opererbar på 15s. Er det ikke det&lt;br /&gt;beste med en båt som ikke kan synke? En mini med 1200l skum&lt;br /&gt;foreksempel? &lt;p&gt;Noe å tenke på: Det er egentlig fritt å seile til Shetland utenom&lt;br /&gt;regatta. Da kan man ta mer hensyn til været og få en finere tur. Men&lt;br /&gt;det er kjekt å se mange seil samtidig. Er det ikke raid det egentlig&lt;br /&gt;kalles? Kanskje jeg har nok med jobb. Ønsker mer å bare slappe av på fritiden. Dette er jo en båt som gir opplevelser. Det har vært flott å kunne seile forbi alle i lettvind, det har vært stort å vinne en regatta, det har vært fornøyelig å seile like fort som protoen Pluto med spinnaker. Komplett uten flåte med henger, 260.000,-. Det er meget rimelig. Båten er nå i bedre stand enn da jeg kjøpte den (unnskyld Jens). Dette er en god mini. Den er tørr og komfortabel. Alle tekniske forenklinger har gjort at det er enklere å seile: Ny ergonomi på løygang, flyttet storskjøte opp på hyttetak, babystag settes fra cockpit, rorkultforlenger. &lt;/div&gt; &lt;div&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Vi(jeg) har for så vidt levd ut regattaboblen, vunnet Huftarøy rundt 2008, 3.plass i Hordacup 2008, savnet under Shetland Race, vant over Anemoi under hard duell på Huftarøy rundt 2009, knust en menisk, dratt på langtur 2009. Den ene av koplingene var ganske eiret. Vi har nå skiftet både antenne og kabel (rg58). &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Da vi målte radionen på Bergen maritim elektro, de er de eneste i Bergen som kan gjøre dette: http://www.bme-as.no/kontakt.html, så skjedde det mystiske ting: En skjøtekabel til antennen inni båten ga et veldig stort signalfall. Plutselig ga ikke radioen utslag i det hele tatt. Den ble sendt inn til Belanor, men kom tilbake "uten feil". I sommer har vi hatt antennekabel i ett stykke fra antenne til radio og det har fungert greitt. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;OBS: Det er ikke mulig å måle utgående effekt fra antennen med det utstyret de hadde, derfor ville ikke en defekt antenne oppdages. Eneste mulighet er å seile 5nautiske mil fra en radiostasjon eller båt og anrope. Ved å ha dette som skjøtestykke, slipper jeg galvanisk tæring mellom aluminiumsbommen og bomfestet. Dessuten regner jeg med at nylonen knekker før bomfestet hvis spinnakeren går i sjøen. En kryssfinerplate er lagt inn i sandwichen. Det viste seg at det egentlig bare var plass for en 3mm stålplate. Fra før var det en alluplate på 10mm. Kryssfiner og epoxi. Vinduer blir laget av plexiglass. &lt;br /&gt;"Hundehuset" skal jeg lagre inni båten, når jeg har bruk for det, skyver jeg glassluken frem og huset går inn i sporet. Låser det med en strikk. &lt;br /&gt;Når det kommer regnbyger, så kan det være fint å være under tak. Når gårrtexen blir våt, blir den også kald, for den tar varme fra kroppen for å tørke igjen. &lt;br /&gt;Høyden på huset er tilpasset min sittehøyde på dørteskelen. Så nå blir det mer komfort: med varme inni og tørre klær, god utkikk og kopp kaffe blir lange havstrekk en greiere sak. En av de siste sommerdagene. Tenkte at det var for tidlig å ta opp båten nå. All elektonikk ha jeg tatt med hjem.
